Our September 2020 to June 2021 program meetings will be online and due to presenter availability, we may have to move the meeting time/dates around but we are going to try to keep that to a minimum. If you are interested in joining one of our meetings, please email email@example.com to obtain details.
The Club year runs from September through May with an annual awards banquet in June. The first Thursday of the month is Program Night and the third Thursday is Competition Night. On meeting nights, the doors open at 7:00 p.m. We generally have a few minutes before the meeting for socializing with our fellow photographers and then we start our meetings start promptly at 7:30 pm.
On Program Nights there is a presentation by an expert in a particular field of photography, a demonstration of a particular technique or type of photographic equipment or software, or a topic of interest to photographers in general.
Our main meeting venue is the Manassas City Hall, any venue change will be made on the Meetup event.

Competitions – Currently Online
September 2020 to June 2021 competition meetings will be online only and we will only have the Digital competition – no entries for prints.
Everyone will only be able to submit two images.
Remember to join the club before 30 September so that you can compete in the October competition.
We will schedule review ZOOM meetings once judging is complete similar to what we did at the end of last year.
The Club holds monthly competitions throughout the club year – the first being in September. Generally, the Competition night is the third Thursday of the month, and members can enter up to four images in total into the three categories – Color Prints, Black and White Prints and Digital – subject to a maximum of two entries in any one category. Each month’s competition has a theme and we invite an experienced judge to comment and score each image during the evening.
Workshops – Currently Online
We also organize workshops – both free instructional sessions and paid training workshops, normally subsidized by the club. These events are only open to club members.
We recommend if possible that new members attend our orientation workshop, which usually takes place in October.
We have a series of Photography 101 workshops each year for our less experienced members. These include subjects such as exposure, depth of field, and composition.
Other workshops may include more advanced topics, such as Editing in Lightroom, Photoshop Layers, and Working with Flash.
Finally, we organize field trips to areas and locations of interest to photographers.
Some recent field trips have included Huntley Meadows, Longwood Gardens, Eastern State Penitentiary, and the National Zoo.
The club usually has a one-weekend field trip each year, recent years have included Ricketts Glen State Park and Charleston, South Carolina.
We also have a club FaceBook page (Manassas Warrenton Camera Club) that we use to share information with the general public and members.
A monthly newsletter, “The Proof Sheet,” is circulated by email to all members and is available on the website (The Proof Sheet). Previous year editions of the Club newsletter are also on the website.
If you are interested in joining, please attend one of our meetings.
