Glenda Hawley Kapsalis divides her time between Fine Art and Documentary photography, choosing to work both in color and black and white. She spends part of each year in Mexico and a larger part in Greece. Home is Evanston, Illinois. She is deeply involved in exploring the loss of connection to the land brought on by urbanization and agribusiness, its implications for our lives, and the ways in which we are reaching out to regain our reverence for and interdependence on the earth. Since moving to New York City in 1995 from Germany, Nikolas Koenig (33) has done work for several top architecture and design magazines. His studies are best described as calming, whether he is capturing a Frank Lloyd Wright home embedded in trees or extracting the flavor of a modern room. Koenig works subconsciously, using a 4 x 5 Sinar to make art objects of dwelling spaces. Back home in Frankfurt, his father was an art director who got him interested in the visual world. Koenig studied photography in Munich, becoming interested in fashion. His client list includes: Travel & Leisure magazine, Ian Schrager Hotels, Peter Marino Architects, and French Vogue. Nikolas was selected as one of PDN's emerging photographers to watch.

Lilyan Aloma is a fine art and commercial photographer. Lilyan's ability to communicate with children has brought about the development of her own visual literacy curriculum. In addition to her Fine Art and commercial work, she teaches children ages 9 to 13 in private schools in New York City. Kate Bellis, a documentary British photographer, has spent much of her career chronicling disappearing ways of life in Britain and in the world's poorer countries. She has most recently been documenting the rural lives of two farming families in Salisbury, England, through the lens of her Leica Rangefinder. Kate Bellis has published a book entitled: "On The Edge", a compelling photo-documentary of hill farming families in crisis. Her photography was also included in an article entitled: "Uphill Struggles", written by Michael Simmons, on farming communities still reeling from the foot and mouth crisis.

Rodney Jay Atienza is a photojournalist based in Philadelphia. Rodney's style is personal, candid and unobtrusive. His work has included documentation of homelessness, disabilities issues, and struggles for justice within various Philadelphia communities and various areas of the world. He is a long-time resident of Yosemite National Park, and is a landscape photographer concerned with conveying the deep, spiritual beauty he sees and feels in Nature. From his extensive travels to India and the Himalayas, he developed a body of images that includes portraits, architecture and religious sites. Neill’s award-winning photographs have been widely published in books, magazines, calendars, and posters. Galleries and museums across the nation exhibit his limited-edition prints. In 1995, the Sierra Club awarded him the very prestigious Ansel Adams Award for conservation photography.

He hopes that through his photography that he can help other people gain appreciation of the area near his home in the north of Italy, in a region called Friuli Venezia Giulia (near Venice). He does a wonderful job capturing the intimate beauty of the wildlife and plants in the region and at the same time respects and protects them. He attended the University of North Dakota in preparation for his training at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Professional Arts. He has been a photographer and graphic artist at the University of North Dakota for the past 30 years. Some images are composites and are made by combining many parts of different landscapes. Ernst Haas (1921-1986), acclaimed as one of the most celebrated and influential photographers of this century, was born in Austria in 1921. Haas's first color essay was on New York, the city he would ultimately make his home. When the editors of LIFE magazine saw it, they gave it an unheard-of layout of 24 pages and called it "Magic Images of a City". Essays on Paris and Venice followed. This web site provides a chronology of Ernst Haas' life. During his life, his work was shown in more than thirty solo exhibitions in the United States, in Europe, in Japan and in South America. Almost every year of his photographic life, he was awarded an honor.

Pete Turner runs an advertising studio at Carnegie Hall in New York City. His editorial photo essays have been published in Esquire, Look, and Sports Illustrated, among others. Africa has been a constant place of inspiration and renewal for him. His photographs have been exhibited in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and the United States, are in permanent collections of major museums, and have been used on numerous jazz album covers. Turner has received over 300 awards from various design groups and photography associations. His work is included in numerous books, which include his collection from numerous adventures in Africa. Turner continues to pursue his personal conceptual work as well.

Sean Kernan runs a commercial photography studio in Stony Creek, Connecticut. Seventy to percent of his work is still life, and a fair amount of his time is spent shooting on location. Kernan's corporate clients include: New York Stock Exchange, Tropicana, IBM Credit Corporation, and The Ramada Inn. Sean continues to do self-motivated projects to keep his creative juices flowing. He did an in-depth series in Alabama and West Virginia penitentiaries. He has been working on a portrait project inspired by the 19th-century Mexican painter Hermenegildo Bustos. In Mexico, Rome, and Cuba, Kernan set up studios and shot portraits of people who interested him. He also offers week-long photography workshops in various cities around the country.

Barry Seidman is a commercial photographer. He was educated at Pratt Institute. After several years as an ad agency art director, he turned to full time photography. Charles Cramer, is a brilliant landscape photographer. In 1997, Cramer
began using a new digital process that involves scanning the transparency,
using Photoshop as a digital darkroom, and writing the final image to
chromogenic photographic paper at very high resolution with red, green,
and blue lasers. These new advances allow Charles Cramer to realize his
lyrical landscape images at their strongest and most compelling.
Photographs by Charles Cramer are available through fine photographic
galleries throughout the West. He has also taught various photography
classes for the Ansel Adams Gallery Workshops. Cramer's landscape works
have been published by the National Geographic, Sierra Club, and the
Yosemite Association. He has written for Photo Techniques Magazine, and
was profiled in the March/April 1995 View Camera Magazine. His most recent
work stems from his fascination with the color, mood, and spirit of the
Southwest.

www.photo.net/ The site is constantly changing and viewers are encouraged to rate frequently posted pictures in order for the photography community to select the best of the best as they are posted. There is much to be gained by regularly tuning in on this site as forums on various topics arise every day and are followed in depth with later postings. As you can imagine this is a gigantic website which encourages the sales of equipment, both new and used and also hosts a section for stolen equipment. A person may easily spend hours here, lurking among the countless electronic pages finding answers to questions that are either complex or basic.
